Dierkes Family Returns Labor Day Week

Nine of the ten Dierkes family members trekked to Rochester and Penn Yan to end the summer season. The first event of the week was fledging Peter off to the U of R... an organized yet consuming ordeal of getting students' family vehicles on campus, unloaded, then leaving the freshman behind to survive in his new world of higher academics. The first off to college is quite an accomplishment; congratulations!

The remaining 7 kids worked diligently on Grandpa's yard and house, trimming and cleaning to leave things better than when they arrived. Then it was off to Keuka for 4 days of swimming, tubing, water skiing, sailing, cooking and just enjoying each other's company. For once, the wind, light and from the North, was just right for a beach bonfire. Oh, how we wish summer days and nights were endless.

Kim & Maggie Visit

We were graced Sunday afternoon with a visit from Kim Russell and her pooch Maggie. We all enjoyed a sunny boat tour of the Keuka Outlet marsh and the north end of the lake. It was literally one of our few dog days of summer.

RE/MAX First Staff Picnic July 20

Hoban Cottage was the destination for the RE/MAX First Staff Picnic this year. The afternoon was gorgeous, the food healthy and delicious, and conversation engaging.

July 16-20 Dierkes Week

The Dierkes Family arrived Monday evening for a week at Hoban Cottage. Grandpa Schnorr stayed through until Thursday. The Uncles made it for a couple evenings of skiing, tubing and eating dinners. Mom and the kids will have to fill in the details to a fun and productive week.

Donnelly-Gentile-Bisson Reunion

June 28 - July 8. For the third year in a row, the Gentiles, Bissons and Donnellys met at Hoban Cottage for an Independence Day reunion. The Gentiles arrived Thursday night with the boat, fishing gear and more new water toys! Tom & Ed joined up on Saturday and the Bissons followed Saturday night. We were able to pick up Mom, Dad, and Dad's caregiver Jean for a 3-day visit including the Fourth. With Dad's Alzheimer's disease progressing and Mom not living at home, it was a very different event. Yet it was a treat getting everyone together. We fished, swam and tubed nearly ever day, hiked Eggleston Glen, raced go carts at Keuka Karts, sailed the Snark, wine tasted at Dr. Konstantine Frank's, boated to the bluff and back (just missing a storm), caught hailstones during a thunderstorm, shared some fantastic meals including Jean's macaroni-egg-mustard & sweet pickle relish salad.

Memorial Day Work Weekend with the Dierkes Clan

Memorial Day 2007 was full with lots of delicious meals, work projects, parades, and times to visit and catch up with each other. Here's a favorite photo of our flag and fur before the fun of the parade.
